Legacy of Light
The Ethiopian Full Gospel Believers' Church began unexpectedly in the mid-1950s through a Pentecostal movement among students in various higher education institutions across the country. Through a revival that spread like wildfire, the Gospel was spread by the power of the Holy Spirit throughout all 14 provinces of the time, leading to the planting of numerous churches in a short period.

Our Journey of Faith
The church has endured much persecution and trials, overcoming them all through God's mercy and special help. Today, it has expanded beyond reaching all regions and districts of our country with the Gospel, reaching neighbor nations and the entire world. History shows its structural organization began with local congregations in the late 1950s, organizing as a denomination in 1974 (1966 E.C.). However, it obtained legal recognition and began operating freely in 1991 (1984 E.C.) when religious freedom and equality were declared.
As a Pentecostal church, its growth is exceptionally rapid because all its ministers and members are diligent in witnessing the Gospel and planting churches wherever they live, travel, and work.
To navigate a rapidly changing global and national context while remaining steadfast in our mission, the church operates under a governance framework rooted in the Word of God. Reflecting our current growth and future vision, and following the resolutions of the 43rd General Assembly in 2017 (2009 E.C.), we have organized our resources to effectively fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-20, Acts 1:8) from our local communities to the ends of the earth.
